Coastal Explorer™ offers a sophisticated and comprehensive cruise planning and logging tool tailored for pleasure boaters. The app transitions into a full navigation system upon acquiring a chart subscription.

The Coastal Explorer app includes the following planning features:

 <li>Viewing NOAA nautical charts for the US in vector format</li>
 <li>Creating routes, waypoints, boundaries, and various navigation objects</li>
 <li>Cloud-synchronization of your navigation objects</li>
 <li>Access to ActiveCaptain points of interest</li>
 <li>Information from the US Coast Pilot</li>
 <li>Marine weather forecasts and observations for the US</li>
 <li>Tide and current predictions for the US</li>
</ul>

Upon subscribing to the chart service, Coastal Explorer transforms into a comprehensive navigation solution, featuring:
<ul>
 <li>Downloadable charts, tide and current predictions, and ActiveCaptain places for offline use</li>
 <li>Integration with compatible networked marine electronics devices such as GPS, compass, depth sounder, anemometer, AIS, autopilot, and more</li>
 <li>Customizable instrument panels</li>
 <li>Route following with cross-track error, distance and time to go, estimated time of arrival, etc.</li>
 <li>Track and event recording functionality</li>
 <li>Integrated blogging capabilities</li>
</ul>
